Pupil Parliament committees

Our democratically elected Pupil Parliament gives children a strong voice in the life of the school and helps them to grow as responsible citizens inspired by the Gospel. Each committee focuses on a key aspect of our mission and works to ensure that every pupil can contribute ideas and make a positive difference.
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.”
1 Corinthians 12:12
Catholic Life Committee
This committee helps to nurture and celebrate the Catholic identity of our school. Members help to plan and review opportunities for prayer, liturgies and Celebrations of the Word, suggest ways to strengthen parish links and encourage everyone to live out the Gospel values each day.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom.”
Colossians 3:16
One World Committee
This group promotes respect for the rich diversity of cultures and traditions within our school and beyond. They organise events that celebrate different cultures, explore global issues and remind us that we are all part of God’s family.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 3:28
Stewardship Committee
Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, this committee leads our care for creation. Members help to look after the school grounds, support our allotment project and encourage everyone to use resources responsibly.
“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.”
Psalm 24:1
Wellbeing Committee
This group works to promote kindness, friendship and positive mental health across the school. They share ideas for activities that help everyone to feel safe, valued and happy.
“Encourage one another and build one another up.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Resolution Committee
This committee helps pupils to solve problems peacefully and fairly. Members listen carefully to different viewpoints and help classmates to reach understanding and agreement.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
Matthew 5:9
During this year's UK Parliament Week , children from Years 1 to 6 took part in our Pupil Parliament elections. Those who felt called to serve created a letter or video manifesto, explaining how they would listen to others, act with kindness and work for the good of the whole school community.
On election day, each class visited our own polling station, complete with booths and ballot papers. This helped pupils understand the importance of every voice and reminded them that genuine leadership is rooted in fairness, respect and truth.
Once elected, our new Pupil Parliament gathered for their first meeting and welcomed local MP Lincoln Jopp. The children asked thoughtful questions about leadership, representation and resilience, linking their role to Gospel values such as justice, compassion and service to others.
Our Pupil Parliament continues to help shape the spiritual, moral and communal life of the school. Through their work, they model what it means to be a community of hope, where every child is valued, listened to and encouraged to play their part in building God’s kingdom.
